Today I found myself with the pleasant surprise, finally SJJ has released the update of its EDK with a great novelty… Ethernet support!!! for this we will have to update the internal image. Very well prepared, it presents us with a file called “EDK_Firmware Update.pdf” in the update file itself.

To have a MAC, you must send an email to [email protected] with the serial number that is written on the bottom of the board, in a few hours they will send you the update package with your personalized MAC.

We can now download to start carrying out the first development tests with the new MicroFramework, which we are increasingly going to have to change the name from micro to macro, due to the number of implementations it is having, :).  The main new features are:

• Interop with native code. -Touch Screen.
• Inking.
• USB support.
• File system.

To download it you will first have to register at http://connect.microsoft.com/netmf and answer a short survey. This way you will enter the developer community and be able to actively participate in this testing.
