Set up your own Bluetooth Hotspot
An easy way to send information about your association’s events to everyone who walks through your door, spam all your neighbors, and a thousand other ways to use this system.
This technology is based on sending text, images, applications, melodies, ….. indiscriminately to anyone within the coverage field of the Bluetooth antenna (approx. 20-40 meters).
I have chosen Debian to mount it, although I suppose that in Ubuntu it is similar. Also compatible with other distros. First (with the Bluetooth plug inserted and configured) we make sure we have all the necessary library and software dependencies:
# apt-get install bluez-utils bluez-gnome libbluetooth-dev libopenobex1 openobex-apps obexftp
We download and unzip BlueZSpammer.v2
We only have to compile our executable, since this software is distributed with the source code, so we change to the BlueZSpammer directory and compile.
# gcc -lbluetooth bluezspammer_.c -o_ bluezspammer
Ready !! We already have it up and running, now we just need to investigate how to send data by playing with the parameters that appear by default. For example:
# ./bluezspammer -o myfile.jpg
Assuming that “myfile.jpg” is a file that is in the same directory from which we are executing it.
Of course, don’t be mean to me and don’t give too much shit to whoever you have around you ;)
