Reading brain waves (EEG)

Next Saturday, August 18, I will be at MUNCYT in La Coruña, with a talk on how to take brain wave readings with low-cost Electroencephalograms (EEG).  I will present the Theeg project and then Jose Angel Mateo will give a presentation on the DotNetClub.

Agenda

10:00-10:15 Presentation of the event and speakers. 10:15-11:00 ‘Theeg: Reading other people’s minds’ Theoretical session. 11:00-11:45 ‘Theeg: Reading other people’s minds’ Practical session. 11:45-12:00 Coffee break

Bird Robot

Impressive advance in robotics, Markus Fischer, head of Corporate Design at FESTO, has presented in Edinburgh a robot that imitates the flight of a bird, to the point that due to its lightness it manages to fly, the truth is that the level they have achieved is impressive, given that this achievement is an interesting advance

Obviously not related to commercial aviation (I don’t see Airbus giving its passengers these movements), but for thousands of biotechnology, forestry,… projects.

Current regulator at 7.2V

In order to power an airband radio I have found some curious voltage specifications, exactly 7.2V, and the input we have from the motor is 12V, therefore, we have had to build our own current regulator.

In the search I found the regulator LM317, essential when you want to obtain currents that are not as common as 5V, 9V, ….. it has three terminals, and is capable of supplying more than 1.5 A in a range of between 1.2 V and 37 V.

space hackers

Impressive activities of these two Italian brothers, Achille and Giovanni Battista Judica Cordiglia, authentic hackers of the airwaves, who managed to bring out the colors of NASA and put the Russian space race in compromising situations.

What would be the equivalent of these investigations today?

Proteus for dummies

A few years ago, for a project, I had to write a mini-manual, to get started in the use of Proteus, and today searching through the laptop directories I came across it, I am uploading it in case someone could use it to get started in carrying out simulations on electronic components (it is clear that at that time cover design was not my thing, heh heh, …)
